Passengers on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) are set for a significant expansion in service as the first of a fleet of new three-carriage trains has gone into public service.
Docklands Light Railway (DLR) has confirmed its platforms at Bank station have reopened.
The station has been closed to upgrade it for three-car operation, and to enhance and improve the platforms, lighting and signage. Three-car operation will now be introduced gradually on the Bank-Lewisham route.
DLR Bank Platforms to reopen on 1 February following three-car upgrade work
- Completed engineering works will lead to 50 per cent increase in capacity on trains serving the Bank-Lewisham route
- Additional bus services in place to assist passengers over extra weekend closure
DLR services for the London International Boat Show
DLR services have been enhanced for the London International Boat Show at ExCeL London during January 2010.
DLR will be running a special Christmas and New Year service between 24 December and 1 January
On Christmas Eve, 24 December, DLR services between Bank/Tower Gateway and Poplar/West India Quay will be suspended. Replacement bus services will operate, connecting with remaining services.
Bank DLR platforms will be closed until end January with no service to/from Bank.

Transport for London (TfL) today advised its passengers that the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) platforms at Bank station will close on December 24 for a month to allow the completion of engineering work for the network's three-car upgrade between Bank and Lewisham.
